WHERE ARE THEY NOW?
From time to time members of the Foundation thought that Piner grads
might like to know something about some of their former teachers at
Piner and some of the staff who were part of their educational lives for
many years. This information is certainly not complete, and we’ll add
to it from time to time.
Some of your counselors:
- Charles Juricich - still lives in Santa Rosa and continues to enjoy his
passion-reading.
- Bill Albright - living the good life in the Napa Valley and purveying
some of their best vintages to his customers.
- Jan Hanson - recently retired, but still helping out in the counseling
department at Santa Rosa JC.
- Carey Pittson - recently retired and now living in Arizona to be close
to his family.
- Tom DuBay - still living in Santa Rosa, enjoying retirement.
- Russ Fuller - living in the Sierra foothills.
- Judy Dillon - living in Hawaii and enjoying her travels.
Some of your former teachers:
- Lee Torliatt - still in Santa Rosa, doing great volunteer work at
Roseland and at St. Vincent de Paul.
- Dick Latimer - living in Santa Rosa and doing some paralegal work with
seniors.
- Kathy Juarez - living in Santa Rosa, doing paralegal work, too.
- Kathy Trenchard - recently retired, the last of the “original” 1966
faculty to do so, and helping several new teachers.
- Gene McKamey - enjoying the retired life.
- Jim Underhill - living in the north county and spearheading the
establishment of a Piner High School Sports Hall of Fame.
- Frank Rathman - in Santa Rosa, enjoying his retirement.
- Ken Foote - in Santa Rosa and one of the mainstays in establishing the
Foundation, serving as its newsletter editor.
- Bob Wycoff - in Santa Rosa, but more often on the road, traveling.
- Jack Dolan - in Santa Rosa and serves as the host of the Piner annual
retired faculty and staff party.
- Steve Casperson - in Santa Rosa, working on the Sports Hall of Fame
Committee.
- Betty Castino - in Santa Rosa, recently retired, loving every minute of
it, and working on the Hall of Fame, too.
- Pat Sampson - in Santa Rosa, enjoying her retirement.
- Bob Jackson - in Santa Rosa, enjoying helping out in various volunteer
activities.
- Bob Wilson - now in Washington state, enjoying being close to Puget
Sound.
- Charlie Buff - still in Santa Rosa and helping with various volunteer
activities.
- Marilyn Turner - retirement has not stopped this former home ec teacher
who enjoys a wide variety of volunteer activities.

Rosa, still involved in a variety of activities.
- Chris Rooney - our former principal’s secretary, living in Rohnert Park,
enjoying her retirement.
- Doris Kelso - our former counseling office secretary, living in NYC.
- Connie Daniels - our former business office secretary, still in Santa
Rosa, enjoying her fairly recent retirement.
- Jackie Jewett - our former counseling office secretary, living in Santa
Rosa, enjoying retirement, as well.
- Marilyn (Dunlap) Jackson - our former library associate, living in Santa
Rosa.
- Ruth Richmond - our former vice principal’s secretary and registrar,
living in Santa Rosa.

- Marie Spedick - retired assistant principal, lives in Santa Rosa.
- Bill Gordon - retired assistant principal, living in Santa Rosa and
still playing a bit of golf.
- Bob Zeni - retired vice principal, still living in Santa Rosa and one of
“founding fathers” of the Foundation.
- Jack Hayes - former principal, left Piner for the district office and
then Analy superintendent, before going to the state athletic
association.
- Joe Sewell - retired principal, still in Santa Rosa.
- Bob Noll - recently retired vice principal.
- Jim Hiss - former vice principal who went on to Ridgway High before
retirement.
- Sue Sion - former teacher and assistant principal who left to assume a
number of administrative positions in the district, now retired.
